Quality policy

Sol.One is committed to bringing new levels of safety to safety-critical software in an industry that is focused on safety and quality. Our industry uses time-consuming methods to ensure quality is reached.

In this context, Sol.One brings something very novel. For the first time in history, we can automate the avionics software development processes and yet be fully compliant with the applicable quality and certification standards. Our DO-178C automation technology is unique, world-leading and fully compliant with EASA/FAA guidelines for DAL A certification. Our Sol computer language, which allows only system-level specification, automatically generates hard real-time avionics software, as well as all certification evidence. The Sol language makes it impossible to specify low-level requirements, dramatically reducing both errors and effort, yet is capable of generating most avionics applications. To improve the quality of system specification, Sol.One provides customers with a development platform that has extensive warnings and error messages on the requirements specified in the Sol language. Sol.One also provides DO-254 DAL A pre-certified Sol hardware with its pre-installed SolOS runtime, providing the highest hardware safety to all avionics applications. Beyond providing Sol as a platform to our users, we also use our own platform to build solutions and products that our customers can use.

Using this automation, Sol.One aims to improve the quality of its customers' products beyond the state of the art. Relentless improvement lies at the basis of everything Sol.One does, and safety and quality are at the top of that list. Products are continuously re-evaluated for new opportunities to make them even safer, and of even higher quality. Our technology's design objective is to enable custom development that reaches quality levels unattainable through manual development or any other method, for a fraction of the risk, time and cost. We also keep improving our own products relentlessly, improving our software technology annually and our hardware technology two-yearly, with each new version better than the previous.

Amidst this continuous push forward, we use very strong configuration management. We provide aviation-grade long-term support for any version of any product we bring to the customer. In addition, we invest in obsolescence management, aiming to provide our customers with technological means to transition old applications onto new platforms without rework.

Our technologies go well beyond safety and obsolescence management. We aim to provide tools that delight developers, as well as the verification team and the QA team. Tools that we like to use ourselves and actually do use ourselves. We track down issues within our tools so you won't have to, making them increasingly better and more powerful.

Beyond technology, Sol.One aims to be a quality organization that our customers like to work with. By providing highly predictable and dependable results, on time, with clear communication, we build long-term relationships with our customers. Changes are implemented in an affordable and fast way. From a highly responsive ticketing system for issue reporting over dedicated training to system engineering support, we focus on helping our customers work cost-efficiently, in the shortest possible time and with minimal rework.

This quality policy has been established by senior management and forms an integral part of our business strategy. As every employee is trained to uphold the quality policy, the policy is implemented and maintained at all levels of our organization.

Environmental policy

Sol.One aims to have zero impact on the environment through its own operations. It also provides technologies that help the industry to move faster in implementing more environmentally-friendly methods of transport.

Sol.One actively invests in research and computing products that help all-electric aircraft become mainstream modes of transport, as well as providing customers in traditional aircraft with improved computational abilities to finetune the aircraft's operation and reduce its fuel consumption levels.

We continuously improve our own processes, including processes subcontracted to suppliers, to have zero environmental impact and adhere to all legal and other environmental requirements preventing pollution. If alternative methods to create a product or service are available, reducing the environmental impact will influence our selection. Sol.One aims to source its electricity from renewable sources where possible.

If Sol.One provides company vehicles, those will only be all-electric (cars and electric bikes). Sol.One does not have company cars with internal combustion engines.

This environmental policy has been established by senior management and forms an integral part of the business strategy. As every employee is trained to uphold the environmental policy, the policy is implemented and maintained at all levels of our organization.
